A Comprehensive set of "scans" and
filters based on Bollinger Bands
The Potential is an easy to use menu driven program that automates the
process of scanning through a selection of stocks, identifying stocks in a
Bollinger band squeeze, Volatility Breakouts, and Trend Reversal signals.
It uses the following Bollinger Band
indicators %B, Bandwidth, MFI (Money flow Index), Intraday Intensity,
Relative strength comparisons.
We highly recommend the book Bollinger
on Bollinger Bands as an excellent book on trading plan design using the
bands.
The Potential does the following each time it is run:
 | Locates all stocks in a Bollinger
band squeeze (lowest volatility for the last 6 months) and adds these
stocks into a watch list |
| It monitors the above list for
volatilty breakouts up oe down |
| It locates stocks giving a trend
following Bull and Bear signal based on the %B and MFI indicators |
| It locates stocks giving a trend
reversal Bull and Bear signal based on the %B and Intraday Intensity
indicators |
| It categorises stocks into the
various stages (1 through 4, see the Stage Analysis Mk3 for more
information) |
| It can also monitor open trades for
various other signals |
| All stocks found are sorted into the
various Stages 1-4 as well as the type of signal given |
| Lists of the stocks found are created
for easy charting and further analysis. |
| Stocks found can be easily charted
from the Bull, or Bear Chart menu |
| It can test The Stage master list of
stocks or - The ASX 100, ASX200 or ASX 300 stocks |
| There are 2 modules, a Short
Term (based on Daily Charts) and a Medium Term (based on Weekly charts).
