The Region

The Blackwood River is one of the more important river systems in Western Australia , stretching from Kojonup to Augusta .

The valley through which it runs is the breadbasket of the south west of Western Australia, producing wine, stone fruits, apples, pears, dairy products, marron, yabbies, olives, olive oil, cattle, sheep, cereal crops, venison, berries, avocados, vegetables, preserves and honey.
