Ultrasonic Instruments for NDT
We can design and build customized ultrasonic instrumentation for non-destructive testing applications such as:
tube inspection
thickness testing
weld checking
corrosion mapping
plus many others.
Computer controlled ultrasonic system:
single or multi-channel instrument: up to 8 channels for one USB link
multiple channels work in parallel, not multiplexed
computer control via USB2.0 full speed link
 battery operated - suitable for portable use with a laptop computer
A scan, B scan, or C scan, and other special displays
usual transmitter voltage -350 vdc, high voltage transmitter (-1000 vdc) available
mains or battery powered
software can be customized to suit individual requirement, or supplied as LabWindows CVI (National
Instruments) drivers
 suitable for a wide variety of NDT applications, for example, see our ultrasonic rail tester

Unless otherwise specified, our computer controlled ultrasonic instruments have the following specifications:
analog bandwidth of receiver: 250KHz to 35MHz
input referred noise 1.5nV/vHz or better
transmitter tuning range (single pulse or burst mode): 250KHz to 25MHz
maximum transmit pulse voltage: -350V
maximum digitizing frequency (in digital instruments): 100MHz
tunable square wave and burst mode transmitter circuits

Ultrasonic preamplifiers and pulser/preamplifiers:
Preamplifiers and pulser/preamplifiers can be custom designed to suit many applications. Circuits are available that offer:
very low noise preamplifier
connection to main ultrasonics by single coax, dual coax, or single coax plus twisted pair
reconstruction of degraded transmit pulses
operation from AC or DC supplies
